This branch of The Arts Society is now celebrating its 40th season. We meet every third Monday in the month from September through to June, except in December when it is the second Monday of the month. We have approximately 300 members and we are currently inviting new members to join us. Our members come mainly from Bowdon, Hale and Altrincham districts but we do draw on the whole area of South Manchester across to Warrington and Knutsford.
After a year of Zoom meetings we resumed holding live meetings at The Bowdon Rooms, The Firs, Bowdon, WA14 2QT, (www.thebowdonrooms.co.uk) for our lectures, the first of which was on September 20th. The lectures start promptly at 1.45p.m. If, for some reason connected to Covid, we were not able to meet in person we would go back to the Zoom lectures which were so succesful in 2021.
As well as having monthly lectures on diverse topics many members have also volunteered their time helping out with Church Recording, Tatton Hall Orchid House, Tabley House Library etc. The Society also supports art education and development work in schools and is inaugurating a Trails of Discovery group. Please see the Vounteering page for more information.
The Church Recording group presented the newly completed Record for Rosthmere Church on November 21st. You can read more about this in the Church Recording section under Volunteering.
Members who would be willing to help run our society by serving on the committee are warmly invited to make themselves known to any committee member.
