General Information about Bowdon DFAS

This branch of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies has been going for more than 30 years. We meet every third Monday in the month from September through to June, except in December when it is the second Monday of the month. We have 350 members and there are usually about 25 on the Waiting List. Our members come mainly from Bowdon, Hale and Altrincham but we do have some who live in Sale, Northenden and even farther afield as far as Appleton, near Warrington.

We meet at The Cinnamon Club, The Firs, Bowdon, WA14 2QT, for our lectures where tea, coffee and biscuits are served afterwards.

We have two Guest Evenings each year; one in November and one in March, which are held at St. Peter’s Church Hall, Hale. There we have a two course supper with wine followed by a lecture.

There at least two day visits each year; one in May and the other in June.

Up till last year there was a four-day holiday in the UK. Last year, for the first time since 2005, we took a party to Berlin for five days. This was very successful and we hope to go abroad every alternate year.
