General Information about Bowdon DFAS

This branch of the  Arts Society is now in its 40th year. We meet every third Monday in the month from September through to June, except in December when it is the second Monday of the month.  We have currently roughly 300 members who come mainly from the Bowdon, Hale and Altrincham area, but we do have members who live in Sale, Northenden and Knutsford but also farther afield, as far as Appleton, near Warrington.

We meet at The Bowdon Rooms, The Firs, Bowdon, WA14 2QT, which have been newly refurbished, where drinks, tea and coffee are available before and after lectures.

We are celebrating our Ruby Anniversary with a special lunch and lecture by Professor Rosalie David on Egyptian Jewellery at Ringway Golf Club on Monday 23rd March.

We are in the process of arranging two day visits, one in May and the other in June, exact dates and venues to be announced.

The Society also likes to organise a four-day holiday each year to places of artistic interest.  The last few years these have been in the UK but there have been trips abroad, the last being a party to Berlin for five days.
